MEET THE FOUNDER

Experience That Understands the Work

Sean J. Stevens

Founder & Principal Consultant

Sean J. Stevens founded WayPoint Solutions following a career in K–12 education that included serving as Coordinator of Instructional Services with the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE). His experience encompasses state-level education leadership, policy and program development, instructional improvement, secondary education, and student support systems.

Throughout his career, Sean worked alongside district and school leaders to translate state priorities, policies, and programs into practical strategies for local implementation. This work provided him with a unique perspective on how state expectations intersect with district operations, school leadership, and the day-to-day realities of educating students.

Through WayPoint Solutions, Sean brings this experience directly to education leaders, providing strategic guidance and practical support to strengthen leadership, improve organizational systems, and turn important priorities into meaningful, sustainable progress.

Experience Across the Education System

Effective education leadership requires understanding how state policies, district systems, school leadership, and classroom practices intersect. Through his experience with the Alabama State Department of Education, Sean gained a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing K–12 education leaders across Alabama. That perspective helps WayPoint connect policy with practice, strategic priorities with implementation, and organizational improvement with the day-to-day realities of leading schools and school systems.
